Florabec, established in 1982. The company originally started as a nursery (this explains the name; Flora = flower and bec = Quebec). We specialized in materials such as the earth, mulch and decorative stones. In 1985, we started importing products. Three years later, in 1988, a truck was rented every summer to transport these products.  In 1992, the company bought its first truck to transport materials from our suppliers to our nursery. Within a few weeks, the truck was used for general transportation. 

 It is only in 1995 that the vocation of the company was changed.  The retail store was closed which allowed us to focus our resources on the transportation company. Florabec continued to transport suppliers materials to garden centers and started doing general transportation. By this time we had three trucks. The warehouse used as storage for the garden center was transformed into a garage and the land was adapted for its new functions. 

 The company continued its expansion, and in 1999, offices were constructed in order to assure more space and to liberate the family house that contained them.  We had 16 trucks and about twenty employees.  In October 2003, expansion work began; a new garage of 100' by 200' was built and the former warehouse garage was annexed to this new construction. This allowed for additional space to maintain and repair our rapidly growing truck fleet, as well as, provide external mechanical services.

We constructed our first flatbed trailer in 2004. Three skilled welder/fabricators were hired to manufacture trailers as specified by interested customers.

Construction of our new facilities began in 2006. The 29000 sq.ft, addition will contain a Freightliner parts store and service centre. As of now, we are continuing to build our business, moving 3,600,000 km per year (which represent 90 trips around the world). Our team of more than 50 employees, will continue to provide the services we so pride ourselves in offering.
